앙증맞고 귀여운 모습이 Daimler AG 의 SamrtForTwo 와 비슷하단 말씀...




도요다의 새로운 경차 iQ에 대해 플러그-인 하이브리도 2010년 양산을 위해 개발중이라는 소문을 포함 제법 알고 있지만 오늘 iQ사진이 새로 입수되었다. 도요다는 실제 운행되고 있는 3+1 좌석의 사진을 촬영하는 것이 적절하다고 생각했었는지.. 그러나 그들이 맞았다.
사진은 충분히 좋았다. 그러나 그 차가 미국에도 들여 올 것이라는 소식을 들었다면 더 좋은 뉴스였을 것.
 
3 미터 길이의 도시경차가 CO2을 1km에 99m 배출하는 iQ를 올 가을 파리모터쇼에서 더 많이 볼 것이 확실하다.

New Honda Insight

이 차는 all-new Honda Insight 이다. 도요다 Prius와 직접 경쟁할 모델인데 10월초 파리 모터쇼에서 데뷰할 계획인 가격이 부담스럽지 않은 Hybrid Family Concept 이다.

개발을 마치면 내년 초에 판매에 들어가는데 5-door, 5-seat 컨셉 모델은 양산준비가 다 된 상태라는 것. 이 차는 Insight 뱃지를 다시 상용할 계획인데, 1999년 처음 혼다가 하이브리드를 내놓았을 때 판매는 아주 형편 없었다.

Hyundai VI vs. 7-Series & S-Class

현대자동차한테는 올라가는 길 밖에 없다!  현대의 싼차 이미지를 떨쳐버리기 위해 한국회사는 전혀 새로운 고급승용차를 내세워 BMW 7-Series와 Merecedes S-Class 고객을 훔쳐 올 목표를 세운듯 하다.

처음으로 공식 공개한 티져 광고로 현대는 이미 오래된 Equus를 후속 모델로 교체한다. Equus는 한국시장에서 10 년째 판매해 왔다. 코드네임 VI 후륜세단은 현대차 홈마켓에서 내년 2월에 시판될 예정이다.  

3.8-liter V-6와 4.6-liter 나 5.0-liter V-8의 VI (Equus 후속차) 는 사양과 가격으로 외국 수입차를 사용하고 있는 한국 회사 임원들을 끌어들일 계획이다. 해외 여행에 일등석을 이용하는 사람들을 위해 VI limousine도 제품 라인에 포함되어 있다. 아직 V I를 영국에서 판매할 계획은 없으나 이 모델은 현대차의 고급 기술을 집약한 차로 현대차의 쇼케이스역활을 하고 싶은 것 같다.

이것은 VI의 안정 운행 관리(stability-management)와 차선 이탈 경고시스템(lane-departure warning system), 저속에서의 엔진실린더 일부 작동중지는 연비개선 시스템 등을 뜻한다. Silhouette로 본 VI는 S-Class와 7-Seires와 비교해서 떨어질 게 하나도 없는 같은...

Einstein, Picasso and Bush at the Pearly Gates.

George W. Bush, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso have all died.

Due to a glitch in the mundane/celestial time-space continuum, all three arrive at the Pearly Gates more or less simultaneously, even though their deaths have haken place decades apart.

The first to present himself to Saint Peter is Einstein. Saint Peter questions him. "You look like Einstein, but you have NO idea the lengths certain people will go to, to sneak into Heaven under false pretenses. Can you prove who you really are?"

Einstein ponders for a few seconds and asks, "Could I have a blackboard and some chalks?" saint Peter complies with a snap of his fingers.

The blackboard and chalk instantly appear. Einstein proceeds to describe with arcane mathematics and symbosd his special theory of relativily.

Saint Peter is suitably inpressed. "You reallly "are" Einstein! Welcome to heaven!"

The next arrive is Picasso. Once again Saint Peter asks for his credential. Picasso dosen't hesitate. "Mind if I use that blackboard and chalk?" Saint Peter says, "Go ahead."

Picasso erases Einstein's scribbles and proceeds to sketch out a truly stunning mural. Bulls, satyrs, nude women; he captures their essences with but a few strokes of the chalk.

Saint Peter claps. "Surely  you are the great artist you claim to be! Come on in!"

The last to arrive is George W. Bush. Saint Peter scratches his head. "Einstein and picasso both managed to prove their identity. How can you prove yours?"

George W. Bush looks bewildered, "Who are Einstein and Picasso?"

Saint Peter sighs, "Come on in , George."

Volkswagen, Ford 판매추월

Volkswagen 이 전세계 자동차 판매에서 Ford를 물리치고 판매량 4윌로 올랐다. 최근 자동차판매 통계에 따르면 VW 그룹은 금년 상반기에 331만대를 판매했고 Ford는 322만대를 판매했다.
"이것은 우리가 세계자동차 시장에서 예전에 없이 강한 존재로써 올바른 방향으로 가고있다는 것입니다." "우리는 시스템적으로 현재와 같은 어려운 시장 상황에도 성장 과정을 밀고 나갈 것입니다."라고 VW 그룹의 경영 이사회 의장 마틴 빈테콘이 말했다.

이 실적 결과는 Ford 경영진에게는 우울한 분위기를 만들 것 입니다. 이 회사가 가정 큰시장인 미국에서 겪고 있는 어려운 사업환경임을 입증해 주는 것입니다. Ford는 Toyota에 추월당한 2004년까지만 해도 세계 제2의 자동차 메이커였다.

오늘 생산을 감산 발표에도 불구하고(despite announcing a cut in production today) 금년 상반기에 GM을 280,000대로 판매를 추월함으로써 Toyota 는 아직도 금년 말까지는 세계 제1의 자동차 메이커가 될 것임은 자명한다.
